98462 (along with 87546) were sent to the North Western Railway in 1922 to be put on trial. Due to their rude and nasty attitude, they were both sent away.

98462’s basis is unknown, but he is most likely based on an NER Class S3/LNER Class B16. Or a Alantic C1 or Gresley A1 in Dalby's Ilustractions Middleton's Ilustractions he could be a B12
He is painted blue with gold and black lining, a red running plate and a white running board.
